AAA Award Winners for 2007-2008The AAA award is presented to one senior boy and one senior girl in each MSHSL member school that excels in the following: Academics, Activities, Athletics. Lakeville South High School is proud to present Hans Nygren and Chelsea Backer with the AAA award this year. Coach Rick Ringeisen was the chair of the committee. The Lakeville South All Sports Booster Club will present each award winner with a $500 academic scholarship at the Senior awards program on May 22, 2008 in recognition of their excellence in academics, activities and athletics. More Great News!Krista Lundgren was named Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Minnesota. As a result, Krista will be in the running for the National Gatorade Player of the Year award which will be announced in May. Krista was also recently named Ms. Soccer which goes to the best female soccer player in the state of Minnesota. Lakeville South High School received a national award from Adidas recognizing the Lakeville South HS Girls soccer team as a top 25 girls soccer team in the nation. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America had our Girls Soccer team listed at #16 in the country. The Lakeville South High School Girls Soccer team enjoyed their visit with Governor Pawlenty January 30, 2008. The girls, coaching staff, parents, and Activities Director Neil Strader enjoyed pictures with the Governor and a small tour of his office and meeting room. Fall Sports NewsGirls' Soccer: Congratulations Girls State Soccer Champions! Football: lost Saturday night to a very tough Owatonna Huskies team 17-7. The Cougars ended their season at 5-4. Cross country Run: The Cougar Boys placed 3rd and the Cougar Girls placed 4th at the Section 1 Cross Country Championships Thursday October 25 in Owotonna. Although the teams will not advance to state, Becca Nichols and Stu Lombarto will advance to the Cross Country state Meet on Saturday November 3 at St. Olaf College. Girls' Swim: Congratulations to the Girls Swim and Dive Team for placing 10th at the state meet! Girls' Tennis: Congrats on an AWESOME year winning the Lake Conference Championships and moving on to the Section Championship before losing to a very strong Rochester Mayo team. 2007 Fall Festival
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Lakeville South High School 2007 Fall Festival. Especially fun this year was the pie-throwing booth. The volleyball athletes were great sports.
