Cougar Parents, For future planning purposes hold the following dates:

  • September 24th: Homecoming Football at 7PM, Fall Festival 4PM-7PM in front of LSHS stadium Battle of the Bands following the home coming football game inside the building.
  • October 26th: First Annual Arts and Activities Parent-Student-Advisor night.6PM in Auditorium

Football Kick-Off Event on 8/25

The Lakeville South High School Football Kick-Off event is Wednesday August 25 2010, starting 6:00 pm at the LSHS Cougar Stadium. Admission to the event is free of charge and will include many food vendors and apparel items to purchase.

Entertainment includes: LSHS Dance Line, Drum Line, kids games, prizes, silent auction items and more. The Main Event will be a full pad inter-squad scrimmage for Varsity and Junior Varsity; B-Squad and 9th Grade. The Football Booster Club is asking that anyone attending please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the local food shelf.

Boys' Swim and Dive Takes 2nd at Sections

The boys swimming & diving team had an outstanding Section Meet! Going into the meet the team was seeded in 6th place, 105 points away from 2nd place and the opportunity to earn a trophy. After prelims the team swam so well they closed the gap to 17 points and were in 3rd place. Thursday evening, the divers rocked the house and place 1st and 4th. Both Alex Nord and Evan Ostendorf qualified for the State Meet in diving!

At the swimming finals the boys swam outstanding and finished in second place by 1.5 points to earn their first section trophy. In addition, the team qualified in the following events for the State Meet:

  • Medley Relay: Ben Kosieradzki, Martin Vu, Max Ommen, & Steve Jordan
  • 200 Free: Anton Knack
  • 50 Free: Steve Jordan, & Ben Kosieradzki
  • Diving: Alex Nord, & Evan Ostendorf
  • 100 Free: Steve Jordan
  • 500 Free: Anton Knack
  • 200 Free Relay: Ben Kosieradzki, Steve Jordan Max Ommen, & Anton Knack

Alex Nord was named Section Diver of the Year, Ramon Baltera was named Diving Coach of the Year, and coach Rick Ringeisen was named Section Coach of the year!

Breaking Barriers Award

Congratulations to coach Rick Ringeisen for being recognized as a Breaking Barriers award winner. Coach Ringeisen was recognized at the state capitol in St. Paul on February 3, 2010. The day and ceremony was National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Congratulations coach Ringeisen!

Mr. Ringeisen coaches the Girls' and Boys' Swim Teams, and Girls' Track, and has received multiple coach of the year awards.

Meet Lakeville South's Penguin Line, starring sophomore center Justin Kloos. Named after the goofy ice birds in the popular animated movie "Madagascar," the Penguins are small and inseparable high school hockey rookies who have managed to light up the scoreboard in a big way this season.
