LSHS Boy’s Soccer 2010 Booster Parent Committees
Volunteer Descriptions
** Please sign up for at least 1 committee and 2 Varsity game duties per family.**
Potluck Kickoff Picnic: 2 volunteers. Schedule the picnic for the first Sunday after tryouts. Reserve a venue (Casperson Park in 2010). Design and distribute a flyer, with food categories for each grade level. Set up and clean up. Arrange for plates, napkins, etc.
Season Posters: 2 volunteers. Arrange picture date for varsity team (as soon as possible after varsity team is determined). Work with captains for format ideas. Get posters printed and distributed around town (players can help distribute).
Apparel: 1 volunteer. Organize optional warm-ups or jackets for purchase. Collect orders and money, distribute completed apparel. Also help with distribution of team uniforms.
Homecoming Celebration: 5 volunteers. Secure spot at celebration. Organize activity for raising funds via ticket sales (with player participation), as wells as raffle ticket sales. Players are expected to participate.
Senior Night. 4 volunteers – should be non-senior families. Create senior booklets with pictures of seniors; one for each to keep, plus a few extras. Schedule a time with Herff Jones by the end of August for team pictures. Get a rose for the senior moms, picture with thank you to the mom and dad is given to the dads (or similar idea).
Banquet: 5 volunteers. Coordinate making of senior posters. Collect pictures from all team photographers and put together a slide show. Liaison with venue (Brackett’s Crossing for 2010); select meal, etc. Coordinate ticket sales and RSVPs.
Fundraising: 5 volunteers to help coordinate fundraising activities.
Sponsors: 3 volunteers. Recruit corporate sponsors for LSHS Boys Soccer.
Youth Night: 1 volunteer for 2010 (Youth Night is coordinated with LNHS and will be at North this year). Contact Jenny David at North (jennydavid@charter.net) to coordinate. Meet with boys and girls team reps from North and South. Youth players wearing jerseys get in free. Parents have to pay. Register at table for prizes; drawings throught the 1st half of the game. Announce over loud speaker. Half time youth are on field to slap hands with varsity players when they come back in.
Banners: 2 volunteers. Responsible for designing and printing new banners for sponsors and varsity and senior players. Hang banners at home games (attach to fence) and take down.
Team Parent Representatives: 1 volunteer per team. Act as liaison between team parents and booster board. Facilitate all team communication, organize team pasta dinners, organize team carpools, etc.
Team Photographer: 1 volunteer per team. Take pictures at all games (or find substitute if you are unable to attend a game). Be sure to get some of each player. Sort through photos and deliver the best ones to banquet committee and for CDs.
