Captains' Practice

LSHS Girls' Soccer Captains' practice will be held 8/4-8/8, from 8am-10am. Meet at the front door of LSHS.

2008 LSHS Girls Soccer Tryouts

When- Tryouts will start August 11^th and will run the entire week from 7:30 am-11:30 am.

Where- On the first day we will meet in the commons area at LSHS.  After that morning, we will meet at the soccer fields at LSHS.  The fields are located about two blocks west of LSHS.  Pull into the gravel lot and walk down the path.

Who- Try outs are open to all players in grades 9-12 for the 2008 school year.  If a player will be in 8^th grade call me the afternoon of August 11^th.  We will take 8^th graders on only if we need them to fill out the teams.

What can you do to be ready on day 1?

Fitness- You will get out of the season only what you put into it.  Start training now, fitness is one thing you can do on your own or with a friend and is the easiest part of tryouts to get ready for.  There will be a timed two mile run on the first day of practice.  In order to play on the varsity team, a player must be able to run two miles in 15.50 minutes. Our pre-season is very short and we cannot dedicate valuable practice time to fitness.  You need to be in shape when the season starts!  We have 4 games before school even starts and 8 games during the first two weeks!

Registration- In order to be eligible for try outs, all players must be registered.  Forms can be picked up in the athletic office or by downloading them online at www.cougarboosters.org.  Along with the registration forms, players must have an updated physical on file and pay an activity fee.   NO PLAYER MAY PARTICIPATE WITHOUT COMPLETED REGISTRATION.

August 11th-15^th practice will run from 7:30 am- 11:30 am

*August 11^th, 6pm-8pm.  Mandatory player and parent meeting at LSHS Auditorium

August 18^th        practice- LSHS- each team will practice in the morning times TBD by individual coaches

August 19^th        the varsity team will play in a three team scrimmage at the Johnny Cake Ridge Soccer Park from 3pm-5:30pm.  We will leave LSHS at 2:10pm.  All other teams will practice at LSHS time TBD.

August 20^th        practice- LSHS- each team will practice in the morning times TBD by individual coaches

August 21^st        First game- at Orono- go to www.cougarboosters.org for entire schedule and bus times.

August 22^nd       practice- LSHS- each team will practice in the morning times TBD by individual coaches

August 23^rd        game vs. RCHS

August 25^th- 29^th- We will have games and practice. If practice- LSHS- each team will practice in the morning times TBD by individual coaches

School year-      we will practice from 2:45 to 5pm when we do not have games.

Before you know it, we will be defending our STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!  I can’t wait to see you all in August.  Use your summer wisely, be ready on August 11^th.
