Volleyball - 2007

Wow! What a day in Farmington!

The Cougar Volleyball team came in second in the Farmington Invitational on September 15. After the Cougars won their matches against New Prague, against Bloomington Kennedy and against Burnsville, the championship match was won 25-22, 25-22 by the Jordan Jaguars, who are the defending Class AA champs. The Lakeville South Cougars took the second place trophy in the tournament.

A Loss But Competitive

The Cougar Volleyball team lost its home game to Eden Prairie on September 10. But, according to the Sun Current newspaper, "It was a loss, but Lakeville South came away from the match believing it had proven something." Although Eden Prairie is ranked sixth in the metro area, South played very competitively. The scores were 25-14, 23-25, 25-22, and 25-22. According to Coach Jen Nelson, who was quoted in the newspaper, "I was proud of the way they played, proud of the way they worked."
